Filter and sort the jobs list
How the Filters drawer actually behaves, what resets it, and which two options do not work the way their labels suggest.
The jobs list at General → Jobs is a card grid with a Filter button and a Sort By: menu. It is a different screen from the schedule board, with entirely separate filter state — narrowing one does nothing to the other.
Filtering never refetches
Every filter in the drawer works on jobs already loaded for the current date range. Nothing you tick sends a request, so filtering is instant, and a filter can never reveal a job outside the dates you have loaded. If a job seems missing, widen the date range first — the filters cannot reach it.
The drawer holds Unit Groups, Job Status, Jobs (split into Cleans, Audits and Maintenance), Staffs, Teams, Assigned Status, Bed Room and Bath Room. The Staffs section disappears entirely when no staff are assigned on the loaded jobs, which reads as a missing feature rather than an empty one.
Two behaviours that surprise people
The sub-type filters exclude across job types. Ticking a single clean sub-type does not just narrow your cleans — it hides every audit and every maintenance job at the same time. Any job type whose own sub-type list is empty gets dropped. If your board empties out after one tick, this is why.
Filtering by a person includes their team’s work. Staffs matches a job if the person is assigned or if they are a member of the job’s team. You will see jobs they were never individually assigned to.
Closing the drawer applies, it does not cancel
There is no discard path. Clicking the overlay or the close cross applies whatever you have ticked. To undo, use Clear All in the drawer footer, or the small cross on the Filter button itself.
The number on the Filter button counts individual selections rather than categories, so ticking three statuses shows 3.
What resets your filters
Clicking Jobs in the left sidebar wipes your filters and your sort order and jumps you to today. This is not a bug — the sidebar link deliberately drops a tracking parameter from the URL, and the page treats its absence as a request for a clean slate.
The practical rule: once you have a filter set you want to keep, navigate with the browser back button, or open the job in a new tab. Re-clicking the menu item is what costs you the setup.
Filters, the date range and the loaded jobs survive a page reload in the same tab. They do not survive a new tab, and your sort order does not survive either — it returns to Team (A-Z).
Sorting
Ten options are offered, covering team, unit alias, unit group, cleaning time and completed time, each in both directions. The default is Team (A-Z).
Two caveats worth knowing:
- Avoid
Unit Groups (Descending). It does not sort, and on any job without a unit group it fails outright. Use the ascending option and read the list upwards. - Completed independence jobs are always pushed to the end of the list regardless of the sort you choose, so
Completed Time (Ascending)will not bring them to the top.
The type counters
The Clean, Audit and Maintenance counters above the board reflect your active filters, not the raw day. They are a view toggle only — clicking one changes nothing about what was fetched.
The counter toggles do not behave as their strike-through styling implies. Clicking a type that is currently active, while the other two are also active, does not hide it — it hides everything else and leaves only the type you clicked. Clicking the last remaining type restores all three. If your board suddenly shows one type when you meant to remove it, click the same counter again to get back. Note also that a hidden type shows no number at all, so the counters cannot tell you how much you are hiding.
